HHP Partners with Storm Records to Enter the Nigerian Market

South African Superstar HHP has inked a deal with Storm 360 to cover Nigeria and the West African Region.

HHP is a veteran of the emerging urban African music scene and is one of the major stars in South Africa, he is a national ikon and credited with being the founder and creator of Motswako, his own unique blend of Hip Hop, his local languages especially in Setswana and other local dialects.

HHP has had great success and is one of the key voices of young South Africa, he has long been associated with international success, having performed for Oprah Winfer, also having recorded the official song for Bafana Bafana for Fifa 2010. He has also been hugely successful in terms of sales and also in terms of shows, his music has now entered the African environment and he is a household name who is working hard to penetrate all elements of the continent.

Last Year he gave a standout performance with Nigerian Superstar Asa, giving a live remix of her seminal hit Jailer live at the Mtv Mama awards in Abuja in November 2008. He was nominated but did not win at that time, meanwhile this year he performed in Lagos at the Road to Mama’s and rocked the house fully. His big personality with his ample frame mean that he cannot be missed anytime anyplace. He has shared the stage with artists from Will Downing, to Snoop Dog, he just recently performed at the Cape Town Jazz Festival with his 12 piece band.

He is no regular artist or rapper and with his positive and conscious message you can hear his humour and his heart in his music.
At these years Mama’s he won the award for Best Male and also presented the award for Entertainer of the year with for Entertainer of the year. He also performed again at the Mama’s becoming one of the few megastars on the continent to perform at both versions of the Mama’s.

HHP keeps it real and also stays busy, apart from winning major awards at the SAMA’s last year and also winning South Africa’s Dance Reality Show he also managed to record the EMCee Africa All Star Track and Video please see link below He also continued this process by reaching out to Storm and solidifying a relationship that has been evolving for years, he reached out and having already built a relationship with Naeto C they delivered a potential Summer Blockbuster record called Boogie Down, moving on from that the rest is now history.

I met Obi (Asika, Storm Chairman) about 3years ago at the channel O awards for the first time formally and we've always been toying with me joining the Storm team...Well, it’s a reality now. After doing a FAT jam with my boy Naetochukwu
on All Around the A, I thought it was fitting to get together for another SMASH hit. Thanx to my boy Ameen, that became a reality. Boogie down is what came about. In SA im forever shouting PULA! Whenever Im on stage. Pula, literally means RAIN in setswana. Now, when I say PULA, im really pushing STORM!

Look out Naija, Well all of us at Storm are excited to be working with the big man, and will be having loads of fun introducing his brand of music and positivity to our people, his story is the classic streets to success story and we are confident that his infectious personality, his musical talents and his African sense of brotherhood will make this South African one of our favourite brother Africans in no tme. Storm will be activating his music, videos and managing his bookings and promoting his career across this country and in West Africa.
