2nd annual Green Trade Network summit - Sustainable Cities of the 21st Century - Sept. 25, Santa Cruz, CA

Santa Cruz, CA - 8/10/09 - The 2nd annual Green Trade Network summit conference will be held again at the Coconut Grove in Santa Cruz, Ca. on September 25th, 2009. (http://www.mbita.org/greentradenetwork/summit2009.html)

This year’s theme and title is ‘Sustainable Cities of the 21st Century’ and will feature presentations on the Masdar City eco-city project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates as well as other eco-city projects in China and other parts of the world.

The intention of this conference is to provide a forum for ‘Green’ small to mid-sized enterprises to learn and network about how they can participate as suppliers and/or consultants for projects that ensure clean air, water and food, healthy housing and workplaces, sound waste management procedures and clean renewable energy systems for these new eco cities as well as other traditional city infrastructures.

Approximately 250 attendees will participate at this conference comprised of manufacturers, consultants, designers, architects, investors, technicians, entrepreneurs, researchers and policy makers from four distinct ‘Green’ industry sectors, (Green construction, air and water purification, renewable energy and waste management).

Also, there will be a special presentation on what American visionaries, inventors and ‘cleantech’ providers are working on for developing sustainable cities and communities on American soil.

“The trend in the development of new eco-cities around the world is just beginning. The enormous undertaking of the eco-city projects in the Middle and Far East pose great opportunities for ‘cleantech’ companies,” states Tony Livoti President of the Monterey Bay International Trade Association (MBITA) who is the organizer of the event.
